Applications open for Trinbago volunteers
The Trinbago 2023 Organising Committee has launched its appeal for volunteers to be Sport Ambassadors for the Commonwealth Youth Games, taking place 4-11 August.
Sport Ambassadors will be at the heart of the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago. The application process for those wishing to join the team and be part of the Games is open from 6 March, until 6 April.
Trinbago 2023 is seeking enthusiastic people from Trinidad and Tobago and beyond to help create an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators. There is something for everyone, with a wide-range of roles, including meet and greeters, registration attendants, event coordinators and prize-giving assistants.
Sport Ambassadors will have the opportunity to showcase their passion for sport and events, as well as a love of Trinidad and Tobago and the region’s culture. They will benefit from specialised training and certification, working alongside a professional team with international experience, while also gaining practical skills, building community and making new friends.
The Games will be hosted across Trinidad and Tobago with a sporting programme of Aquatics (Swimming), Athletics and Para Athletics, Cycling (Road and Track), Triathlon, FAST5 Netball, Rugby Sevens and Beach Volleyball. Emerging athletes aged 14-18 will be joining from across the Commonwealth’s 72 nations and territories.
Annie Hairsine, Commonwealth Youth Games Senior Project Lead for The CGF, said: “The Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games will be an unforgettable event in a truly wonderful country, but it wouldn’t be possible without our Sport Ambassadors.
“We urge the local community and sporting associations to play a huge part in the biggest sporting and cultural event in Trinidad and Tobago this year, but we also warmly welcome people from neighbouring countries and further afield.
“Every Sport Ambassador will be crucial in helping to deliver an inspirational Games, all while having a fun and rewarding time in Trinidad & Tobago this summer.”
